US June trade balance data now out 4 Aug

  • USD -46.4bln prev revised up from -46.5bln
  • real goods exports surged to an all-time high of $126.9bln , buoyed by record petroleum exports
  • exports of goods and services +1.2% to $194.4bln, highest since Dec 2014
  • imports of goods from China increased 1.2% with US-China trade deficit +3.1% to 32.6ln

Exports hitting 2 1/2 year highs sees a decent improvement in the trade deficit to the lows levels since Oct 2016 and beating expectations.
