Trades toward $10,000
The price of bitcoin is trading at the low for the days and looks toward the $10,000 level. A headline that Bitfinex and Tether have been subpoenaed by the CFTC has the digital currency market concerned.
The low from Jan 23 comes in at $9927. The low from the plunge from the near 20K level reached $9222 on January 17th (on the bitstamp exchange).
The price has been waffling above and below the 100 and 200 hour MAs until today (see earlier post). It has also been trading above and below the 100 day MA. The move away today was more bearish technically.
The low just extended to $9977 but has rebounded to just above $10,000 at $10,045 as I type. That is down about $1100 on the day.
