Or at least if you're in Singapore that is
I've talked about my encounter here when it comes to stumbling upon PC malls in my own country and what is it that shop owners are promoting these days. And the same goes for my neighbouring country, Singapore, it seems.
Bloomberg has a piece here where they interview a local shop owner and finds that he is able to sell up to 10 ready-made cryptocurrency mining rigs a week - up from 1-2 six months ago. He says the bulk of his customers are buying these machines to mine Ethereum (which I believe they will then exchange it to Bitcoin).
According to the shop owner, leaving such a machine running for a full month can get them about SGD 400 a month - based on customer testimonials.
While not exactly market moving, this is just a little bit of background as to what's happening in this part of the world.
