Results of the US initial jobless claims report for the week ending April 13:
- Prior reading was 346K (revised to 348K)
- Four-week moving avg rises to 361K
- Continuing claims 3068K vs 3075K exp
Solid report overall and it shows a decent trend in employment but nothing spectacular. The Fed wants to see consistent +200K non-farm payrolls reports but claims will have to tick closer to 330K to make that happen.
