From the Reserve Bank of Australia at 0130GMT on Tuesday 19 August 2019
The meeting was on August 6. Since then we've had:
- the quarterly Statement on Monetary Policy (SoMP
- Governor Lowe's Semi Annual Testimony to parliament (committee)
- and speeches from Debelle and other senior RBA officials
Which all mean that these minutes are largely superseded. In addition we've had further deterioration in US/China relations on trade.
I don't expect we'll get much more from the minutes apart from confirmation that the easing bias is intact and the Bank remains in monitoring mode for now. What might raise eyebrows is the extent, if any, of talk on QE potential.
