Bank of England Governor Mark Carney in an interview with the UK's Mail on Sunday newspaper

Carney umming and ahhing on when there will be a rate hike

  • "If we think there is a prospect, a possibility - that's a possibility not a certainty - of rate rises, then that is far, far better to let the British people know so they can prepare"
  • Carney also said that when rates do go up, the path would be "gentle"

OK, so in summary, the BoE is going to give us plenty of warning, then only raise rates slowly thereafter. Makes sense.
