"Nobody said there would be an increase in QE"
At a press conference in Florence, Italy, Weidmann is making good points about the impossibility of solving growth problems with monetary policy. He also said the ECB is ready to act and must ask how serious inflation is.
He's a hawk and already knows that the QE battle is lost. Doesn't sound like he will fight too hard if/when the ECB reaches back into the QE bag of tricks.
