Reserve Bank of New Zealand monetary policy announcement is coming up next week
- 25th September (NZ time)
So, an early heads up. The question is, of course, given global easing moves, will the RBNZ add to its cuts?
The Bank slashed a hefty 50bps from the OCR only last month. Since then the data from NZ has not been surging, but it hasn't been overly poor either:
- an 11-year low for the unemployment rate
- wage growth a little higher
- Yesterday's Q2 GDP was better, albeit as noted its quire old data now.
More previews to come in the new week. But it does seem likely the Bank will be on hold in September
