Westpac changes its RBA rate cut forecast - not expecting in February now

WPAC was forecasting a Reserve Bank of Australia interest rate cut in Feb. 2020

  • Changed that now to April 2020
  • And another in August (from June)

Due to the surprise back to back fall in the unemployment rate in November and December, we expect the RBA will delay the next rate cut until April.

Yesterday we got similar changes from other banks:

  • CBA has changed its RBA rate cut forecast also, from February to April
  • ANZ no longer forecasting an RBA rate cut for February
