That's right - Bloomberg surveyed 45 economists on what they expect today - no change!
- All 45 economists forecast BOJ will keep stimulus unchanged
- Nearly all of them said they don't see any change before Governor Haruhiko Kuroda's current term expires in April next year
here's the Bloomberg piece for more: The Bank of Japan Is on Cruise Control
What am I waiting on?
I am waiting for the Bank of Japan to delete its reference to its 80tln yen JGB buying target. its irrelevant under the YCC policy - as I've been posting for months now.
Will they do this today? It seems unlikely, but I have no idea really. If they do I expect the yen to strengthen on a knee jerk and then to unwind that strength quickly - its not as if abandoning the target will actually be a change in policy.
