This is much better than the prior month of 53.5

The AiG performance of construction Index for the month of November came in at 57.5. That was a decent jump from the prior month's 53.5.

  • Employment 55.3 versus 52.4
  • Deliveries 56.4 versus 54.2
  • Input prices 78.8 versus 75.0
  • Selling price is 59.9 versus 53.6
  • Wages 62.3 versus 59.9
  • Capacity utilization 79.2 versus 79.0

In other measures:

  • housing activity 61.3, up 8.3 points
  • department activity 47.7, up 1 point
  • commercial activity 59.8, up 9.7 points
  • engineering activity 64.1, up 3.2 points

The high for the year came in at 60.5 in July.

The construction activity is strong but the index can swing around..

The AUDUSD is little changed at 0.7564.
