November revised to -0.3% from -0.1% previously reported
The ANZ job advertisements for December showed a decline of -0.3%. This was on the back of a -0.3% decline in November. The November number was revised from -0.1% previously
Seasonally adjusted:
- YoY rose 3.8% down from 4.1% in November
- number of job advertisements total 42,703, down from 42,825.
- 3 month average comes in at 42,820 vs 42,779
- three month moving average YoY% 4.6% vs 6.0% last month
ANZ says:
- Sees wage with picking up modestly in 2018, reflecting both a tight labor market and changes in government policy such as higher minimum wages and workplace relations reform
- The decline in job ads growth is consistent with our forecast of a continued moderation employment growth
- both data and anecdotal suggests the labor market is tight, but the strongest growth in labor demand appears to be behind us
