A few events on the calendar today:
- 2300 GMT: Italian PM Monti is meeting with the UK’s Cameron and delivers a speech (seems late no?)
- 2330 GMT: Westpac consumer sentiment for Australia (final revision)
- 0130 GMT: China releases data on Dec property prices
- 0200 GMT: The World Bank begins releasing growth forecasts
- 0430 GMT, Japan releases final November industrial production data. No change from the -4.0% y/y initial reading is expected.
None of those releases is likely to move anything so I will be watching for follow through from Shanghai stocks, which yesterday posted their biggest one-day rally since 2009. Copper is also at the highest since October.
