June was down in the midst of lockdowns, early in June for Melbourne (retail sales fell 4% m/m in June in its state of Victoria), later for Sydney (-2% in state of New South Wales in the month).
July looks set to follow suit, with extended lockdowns in both states (Vic and NSW are Australia's largest population states, by far), but also lockdowns in South Australia and Queensland for part of the month.
