In a speech primarily on consumer credit, BOC Governor Carney says that the Canadian economy should grow faster than other G7 economies in 2007. He warns, however, that recovery will be more protracted and reliant on domestic demand than usual. The global outlook has improved but significant fragilities remain, he said.
