LONDON, Feb 22 (MNI) – The Bank of England announced Tuesday its
upcoming issuance of a benchmark 3-year US dollar bond.
The BOE, in a market notice, said it had mandated BofA Merrill
Lynch, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and J.P. Morgan as Joint Lead Managers of the
bond, which will finance the central bank’s foreign exchange reserves.
The BOE said the “2011 operation will be a benchmark 3-year US
dollar bond, and the Bank expects to execute this transaction in the
coming weeks, subject to market conditions.”
This will be the fifth operation in the Bank’s annual issuance
programme; previous 3-year dollar bonds were issued in March 2007, March
2008, March 2009 and March 2010.
