It's do-or-die, says Boris Johnson
Politicians are the best liars in the world but Boris Johnson is going to have a tough time backing down from his talk about leaving the EU on October 31.
He's just published a tweet and a letter calling for Jeremy Hunt to commit to leaving on that date, no matter what.
The problem is that Johnson is living in some kind of make-believe land where he can get a better deal and solve the Irish border problem. And in a world where the Conservatives have a majority in parliament and that his party is fractured.
In his letter, Johnson also says he won't hold another referendum. Read it here:
I imagine the end game will be blaming Labour when he can't get a deal through parliament and calling an election. At least that will have some hope of breaking the impasse.
