Brexit: EU calls out Johnson's response by saying they will get ready for more trade talks next week

I mean to be fair, Johnson did not explicitly say that the UK will be walking away from talks but neither did he confirm that they will be engaging in more talks either.

That said, the fact he said earlier that they are willing to listen does suggest that the door is still open for further Brexit talks to take place before 31 December.

Hence, the unofficial early response by the EU is that they are preparing for more talks in London next week as they assume Johnson did not make mention about abandoning that altogether. The situation is fluid right now so headline risks are everything.
