With Congress balking at pushing through the TARP plan as quickly as planned, the President takes to the airwaves tonight to sell the plan to the public. Bush has wisely let his economic team carry the ball this far but Paulson’s halting public performance on the Hill requires him to throw the long-ball and have Bush sell the plan to the public.

When push comes to shove however, I’d take Hank Paulson over Chris Dodd and Barney Frank on my side of the negotiation every time.
