Xinhua reports on the matter, as cited by Reuters

  • New tariff exclusions will be for some products from the US
  • The exclusions will apply to 6 different products
  • The exclusions will be effective from 26 December 2019 until 25 December 2020

This isn't exactly "new" news as this has been preempted since the start of the month as seen here and also earlier this week here. Nonetheless, it is a positive step to try and achieve the relevant promises made for the Phase One trade deal.

Let's see if the steps taken above can help to increase Chinese farm purchases from the US in a significant manner, because as things stand, it is a really tall order.
