China Services Index falls to 56.5 in October

HSBC’s China services sector business activity index fell to 56.5 in October, a four month low, from 58.1 in September. The fall in the headline index dragged HSBC’s composite output index for manufacturing and services down to 56.9 in October from 57.8 in September.

However, these numbers are in contrast with the jump in China’s semi-offcial purchasing managers’ index for non-manufacturing, released on Tuesday, to an 18 month high of 62.1.
