Weekly jobless claims fell further to 467,000 in the latest week but continuing claims reached their highest levels since the 1980s recession. These are grim stats, but keep in mind the US population has grown dramatically in the last 25-30 years.
The buck is taking it on the chin with USD/JPY slicing easily through the 91.00 level and EUR/USD surging toward 1.3700. Resistance is at 1.3715 and 1.3745/50.
