WASHINGTON (MNI) – According to the Federal Reserve Bank of
Cleveland Thursday, the median Consumer Price Index rose 0.1% in June
after a 0.1% increase in May.

The 16% trimmed-mean Consumer Price Index increased 0.2% during the
month and at an annualized rate of 1.9%.

“The median CPI and 16% trimmed-mean CPI are measures of core
inflation calculated by the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland based on
data released in the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ (BLS) monthly CPI
report,” it said.

Tuesday, the BLS reported that there was no change in the overall
CPI after a 0.3% decline in May. Year to date, the annualized and
adjusted CPI was up 1.7% through June.

The core CPI, excluding food and energy, increased 0.2% on a
seasonally adjusted basis and was up 2.2% y/y.

Over the last 12 months, the median CPI rose 2.3%, the trimmed-mean
CPI rose 2.2%, the CPI rose 1.7%, and the CPI less food and energy rose
2.2%.
