According to the Old Lady, British corporate credit conditions improved in the second quarter of the year, partly the result of the bank’s asset purchases.
Market contacts have reported improved liquidity and price transparency for corporate bonds, and short-dated commercial paper issuance declined as firms were able to find longer-term finance.
A rise in gilt yields over the period was related to expectations of higher BOE interest rates in the future and faster growth or inflation, the bank added.
