Good day one and all

Yes, UK election day has finally arrived and polling booths will open at the top of the hour. There will be plenty of conjecture being offered up as to the outcome but the first clues will arrive at 21.00 GMT when the voting stops and the first exit polls appear. We will be posting more thoughts on the outcome and impact on GBP during the course of the day

Data wise it's a thin calendar today but I'm sure that won't stop the market from continuing its lively tone of the past few days
