The Telegraph is carrying a story entitled “West heads for new confrontation with Russia.” The story highlights comments made by Nato secretary general Jaap de Hoop Scheffer in a visit to the Georgian capital Tbilisi. The official, in a move certain to agitate Russia, has said that the launch of a new Nato-Georgia commision would “function to enlarge and accelerate our co-operation and integration”, adding “The Nato delegation has come to support Georgia and to support its ambition and wish for Euro-Atlantic integration.”
