FRANKFURT (MNI) – The European Central Bank is undecided about
whether it will sterilize any bond purchases it may undertake to
normalise government bond spreads, ECB President Mario Draghi said on
Thursday.
“You shouldn’t assume that we’re not going to sterilize or
sterilize,” said Draghi. “It’s too early to say whether they’re going be
sterilized or not sterilized.”
The ECB will analyse these “complex” operations, he said. “Rest
assured, we will be acting within our mandate.”
