FRANKFURT (MNI) – Giving up the euro is unthinkable, Dutch Prime
Minister Mark Rutte said in an interview with German daily Frankfurter
Allgemeine Zeitung, published Thursday.

Rutte defended bailouts for Greece and Ireland and warned that any
country leaving the Eurozone would cause great harm to the Netherlands’
banking system and export market.

“[Dutch] people understand that. I see little resentment there,”
Rutte said.

Nevertheless, he said that while “the Netherlands will always be a
net contributor [to the Eurozone budget], we no longer want to pay so
extremely much more than others,” Rutte said.
