LONDON (MNI) – European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet
said Thursday that risks to the Eurozone economy remain tilted slightly
to the downside, but said that the performance since the start of the
recovery had constantly surprised to the upside.
“We consider the risks to the real economy to be slightly tilted on
the downside,” he told a press conference in Frankfurt.
“For me, [it is] interesting, because I have also to mention, since
the start of the recovery, which started in Q3 last year 2009, we have
been constantly surprised on the upside.”
