ECB’s Nowotny: Does not think swine flu will affect global economy as situation stands at present

ECB’s Ewald Nowotny feels the signs are that swine flu will likely not have a sizeable negative impact on the global economy as the situation stands at present.

The official told reporters on the sidelines of an Austrian central bank news conference, when asked about the swine flu, “I do not think it will have major negative effects, at least if the volume is at the range that I am aware of.”
