A preview of the calendar in European trading later

Howdy, everyone! Hope you're all doing well today. It's been a relatively quiet start to the day so far so hopefully we'll see things start to ramp up when European traders enter the fray.

Here's what the calendar looks like for European trading:

0630 GMT - Bank of France March industry sentiment indicator

Prior release can be found here. This is a survey on business managers collecting their estimates on how the French industrial sector is performing. Low-tier data point.

0800 GMT - Italy February retail sales data

Prior report can be found here. Another general sentiment indicator of the consumer in the Eurozone.

0830 GMT - UK February trade balance data

0830 GMT - UK February manufacturing, industrial production & construction output

Prior data can be found here and here respectively. They are minor data points, providing a general glimpse of sentiment into the UK economy. And the trade balance data isn't expected to provide much of a change to the current picture.

1100 GMT - UK March NIESR GDP estimate

Prior release can be found here. A general growth estimate of the UK economy. But markets barely budge on this data point.

1100 GMT - US MBA mortgage applications w.e. 6 April

Weekly US housing data, measures the change in number of applications for mortgages backed by the MBA during the week. Not the biggest of data points, but a general indicator of the housing sector sentiment.

1100 GMT - ECB president Draghi speaks in Frankfurt

Draghi will be delivering a speech followed by a Q&A with winners of the Generation €uro Students' Award, organised by the ECB.

Apart from that, at 0505 GMT we have RBA governor Lowe speaking in Perth and at 0615 GMT we'll have BOJ governor Kuroda back for an encore of the "Powerful Monetary Easing" tour.

That's all for the European session, I wish you all the best of days ahead and as always, good luck with your trading!
