There are a stack of PMIs due from China today, both the official and unofficial surveys.

The official PMI differs in the what and how it measures .... its more focused on bigger firms. So, if effect with the release of both official and unofficial PMIs today we'll get a better picture of China than just one alone.

The PMIs have been in the doldrums lately ... lets hope we can see some pick up today.

I'll see if I can dig up a bit more on these ahead of time. but for now, here's what to look for etc:

0100GMT - Official Manufacturing PMI for September

  • expected is 49.7, prior was also at 49.7

0100GMT - Official Non-manufacturing PMI for September

  • prior was 53.4

0145GMT - Caixin China Manufacturing PMI for September (final reading)

  • flash was 47.0 (a miss on expectations of 47.5 and the lowest since March of 2009)
  • prior was 47.3

0145GMT - Caixin China Composite PMI

  • prior was 48.8

0145GMT - Caixin Servcies PMI for September

  • prior was 51.54
