Due from New Zealand today at 2245GMT:

  • August trade balance, expected is -1125m, prior was -692m
  • August exports, expected is 3.20bn, prior was 3.70bn
  • August imports, expected is 4.45bn, prior was 4.40bn

Also today we will get the annual results announcement from Fonterra, which could include an announcement regarding the forecast for the milk payout. Private forecasters have downgraded their expectations for the payout figure (eg. Westpac forecast Fonterra to cut 2014/15 milk payment to NZ$5.30/kg). I don’t have an expected time for this.
