BRUSSELS (MNI)- European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso
will on Wednesday meet with Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos, one
day before the EU leaders’ summit that takes place in Brussels on
Thursday and Friday.

Barroso and Papademos are expected to discuss the details of
structural reforms to boost Greece’s economic competitiveness and on
ways to facilitate Greece’s access to EU development funds.

Eurozone finance ministers last week gave the green light to a
second rescue package for Greece.

EU leaders next week are expected to discuss the possibility of
boosting Europe’s crisis firewalls.

The meeting between Barroso and Papademos will take place between
1400 and 1600 GMT and will be followed by a press conference.
