A statement by the European Parliament Brexit steering group reads

Brexit
  • Calls on British government to work with all political parties in the House of Commons to overcome Brexit deadlock
  • Reiterates that the European Parliament cannot give its consent to Brexit withdrawal agreement without Irish backstop

Well, with 1/3 of Cabinet members in Davos any progress in the Brexit talks are unlikely to bear any fruit until next week at the very least. So, much like the rest of the world, European lawmakers are just going to have to wait. 64 days to go. Tick tock, tick tock.
