German Dax down -0.3%
The European major stock indices are closed for the day with marginal losses
- German DAX fell -0.3%
- France CAC fell -0.1%
- UK FTSE closed flat
- Spain's Ibex fell -0.3%
- Italy's FTSE MIB was flat.
In the 10 year note sector, yields are ending the session lower.
Near the London close, the USD is still the strongest but some of the gains have been eroded. The GBP is still the weakest but like the USD, the currency has recovered in the US morning market. All the currencies are fairly close together now (with the GBP still the biggest influence though).
In other markets:
- Gold has recovered some of the losses on the back of the lower dollar. It is still down -$2.83 or -0.23% but is off the lows at 1207 (it is at 1210.83 now)
- Crude oil is higher by $1.29 after the Iranian sanctions were imposed (and the US encouraged others to join in). It trades at $69.79 . The high is at $69.92.
In the US stock market:
- S&P is up 6.67 points or 0.23%
- Nasdaq is up 20.79 points or 0.27%
- Dow is up 18 points or 0.07%
