EU financial head handing over the poisoned chalice to the leaders
- some difference still remain
But on "big issues" according to Dijsselbloem
Juncker says he "hopes" there will be a deal
Who else has been saying what as they head in to do battle?
Merkel:
- sees no united position from Eurogroup
- the nerves are tense re Greece
- situation is "extremely difficult"
That phrase has been used a lot lately in mantra-like form
- it's still to be seen whether talks will succeed
Hollande:
- dismisses concept of provisional Grexit
- Greece is either in the euro or out
- France will do everything to find an accord
" if Greece isn't in the Eurozone then Europe won't advance"
Germany 1 France 1
Ireland's Kenny:
- Greeks have strengthened their commitments to change during Eurogroup meeting
Austria's Faymann
- "we have good chance of a deal"
- sees decisive debate ahead today
Italy's Renzi:
- Italy will do everything to resolve the Greek issue
Looks like they'll be a while yet and may still be deliberating as markets open sop we can't come to any conclusions or strategy just yet
Back to watching the Men's tennis final for me. Gripping stuff so far
