Fed's Bullard, on a Wharton Business radio interview, said:

  • the policy rate about right where it is
  • inflation probably not going to improve by end of year
  • Says Fed chair nominee Powell has been a great colleague on FOMC
  • Powell is a consensus builder with a lot of acumen
  • Would like the White House to fill empty seats on the Fed board
  • A December hike could depress inflation expectations
  • US growth prospects have been better this fall
