It doesn’t matter what GM stands for but it’s Good Morning today as the company blew away estimates in June with sales up 1% compared to a forecast of a 6.3% decline. General Motors has been bullet proof despite an endless stream of recalls.

Ford sales were also slightly better than expected at -5.8% in the month compared to -6.6% expected.

Along with better numbers from Chrysler, the US auto industry is on pace for a strong month in June. The market is stuck on the soft GDP reading from Q1 but real-time US indicators are picking up.
