The market may have gone into the weekend slightly short risk trades such as AUD/JPY in anticipation of a possible Chinese rate hike and these positions are now being squared up.
AUD/USD is trading at .9300 in early interbank trade after closing in NY at .9265 and USD/JPY is also slightly higher, at 84.30, 15 pips above its NY closing level.
USD/CHF trades at 1.0200, cable at 1.5380 and EUR/USD at 1.2730.
