The French prime minister Manuel Valls and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet on Monday.
They are having lunch together.
An interesting report from Reuters quotes a “German official who requested anonymity”:
- “We have no interest in humiliating the French”
- “But we would like to extract something out of them – including real, verifiable action on structural reform – in exchange for letting them off the hook”
- “The problem will be to find a compromise that is acceptable politically to both the French and the Germans.”

Lets hope something can come of the meeting to assist growth in Europe.
