Germany August retail sales -0.1% vs +0.5% m/m expected

• Retail sales +1.6% vs +1.6% y/y expected
• Prior +0.8%; revised to +0.9%

Slight delay in the release by the source. Weak monthly reading there but the year-on-year figure is as expected. Not a major data release by any means but it doesn't paint a robust picture of German consumer patterns in any case. EUR/USD continues to trade near the lows of the day now at 1.1588. EUR/GBP likewise at 0.8893 and EUR/JPY is trading just under 132.00.
