Germany Chemical Union Secures 4.1% Pay Rise Over 15 Months

FRANKFURT (MNI)- Germany’s IG BCE chemical workers union and the
BAVC employers’ association have agreed on a wage increase for some
550,000 employees of 4.1% over 15 months, IG BCE said Thursday.

In the first month of the agreement, employees forego an increase
and will then get a 4.1% pay hike before any possible renegotiation at
the end of the 15-month period.

The start of the deal will differ from region to region, with dates
ranging from March 1 to May 1, the union said.
