Citing Bundestag's foreign affairs committee chair as well as senior CDU MP, Norbert Rottgen, on the matter. The report says that Germany would only grant an extension if the UK were to hold a public vote or a second referendum and needed a bit more time.

Otherwise, it's essentially going to be a no from Berlin with regards to an extension request. Adding that they will not entertain any "blackmail" by the new Tory leadership in trying to threaten to leave without a Brexit deal.

That'll certainly be interesting to see if and when that does happen, that is Germany making a decision that will tear up its own economy. Who's gonna blink first this time around?
