The December reading for the NFIB small business optimism index is due - but it appears to be released already
News sources have not reported on the matter, but the NFIB website has already released the number (not sure if accident or not) in its report here.
I've highlighted that earlier in the day in the calendar preview here ICYMI.
The December reading was expected to come in at 107.8 but the report shows that it came in at 104.9.
Although it's lower than the prior reading of 107.5 (which was the highest since 1983), it's still a solid number relative to what we saw throughout the year. And the 2017 average for the index was 104.8, a record high average.
