After the all the talking heads from the EU, now UK Prime Minister May comments:
- Says I agreed an extension to end of October at the latest
- Says we need to leave the eu as soon as possible
- Says extension can be terminated if withdrawal agreement is ratified
- UK will continue to hold full EU rights and obligations during extension
- I know there is huge frustration that i have had to request extension
- Sincerely regret the fact that i have been unable to persuade parliament to back deal
- Says tomorrow i will make a statement to parliament
- I will not pretend that the next few weeks will be easy
- Nothing is more pressing than delivering Brexit
- We can leave the EU before June 30
- I want us to leave the EU with a deal as soon as possible
- If we can ratify before May 22 we will not need to participate in EU elections
- I have been reaching out to find a way to get agreement in parliament
