Germany's Schaeuble says;

  • EU ministers will discuss economic fundamentals
  • Need to find stable growth amid turmoil
  • Sees markets already nervous about Portugal
  • Banking sector volatility is a bit excessive

Spain's de Guindos

  • Nothing fundamental has changed in the Eurozone (yep it's still crap)
  • Eurozone slowdown largely from outside the Eurozone (i.e it's not our fault)
  • Global slowdown proving worse than expected (aren't they always?)

It's always fun listening to these clowns.

Next up: Frances Sapin saying that France's GDP will be 5.0% this year and Italy's Padoan saying they'll hit the EU budget targets after all ;-)
