Argentine officials have taken a break from meeting with mediators but holders of Argentine debt issued in euros are asking the US judge to issue an emergency stay on the debt ruling that forces Argentina to pay holdouts from the 2001 default along with a payment tomorrow.

Hard to say how likely it is to be successful. The judge would probably grant a stay to the vulture funds holding USD-denominated debt but they don’t want to drag it out any longer.

It really depends if the judge truly believes they’re making progress and more time would help.
