Hungary’s PM balks at further IMF involvement

PM Orban says we need to agree with the EU, not the IMF, on how to reduce deficits. He says there is no point talking with the IMF on long-term plans as the deal with the IMF has ended.

EU’s Barnier says says he seeks strict but effective compromise for dealing with Hungary on issues outstanding.

Very interesting moves from Hungary, digging in their heels and telling the IMF to take a hike. The EU obviously is scrambling to try and get the IMF back in the picture because they have deep pockets…

Hungary remains a sideshow but bears watching.
