An update ICYMI from earlier, China has cancelled schedule trade talks with the US this week
- Also cancelled a planned visit to the US by vice premier Liu He which was scheduled for this week
- And, China has also summoned the US ambassador to Beijing to protest over sanctions imposed on a Chinese military officer in relation to China buying jets and missiles from a Russian arms exporter subject to US sanctions.
Relations between China and US truend a little more frosty over the week ….
AUD/JPY was sold off earlier but has mostly retraced
On market liquidity … China and Japan are both closed for holidays today. Local stock markets closed in both countries. Singapore and Hong Kong are open, so forex liquidity is OK. HK will be closed on Tuesday.
